Since no original Fokker DR-1s exist this is the very next thing. A flying replica used in the movie “Fly Boys” she was built to the original specifications and technical drawings researched and provided by Walt Redfern, renowned WWI aircraft authority. Redfern is one of the few people to have communicated directly with the original designer Reinhold Platz.

The exceptions are the original Le Rhone rotary engine has been replaced by a Lycoming 0 -360 for both ease of maintenance and safety reasons, a tail wheel has been added for the sake of hard surface runways and a 12 volt electrical system has been installed to accommodate current avionics. Airshow ready, this aircraft has been featured in numerous airshows and always draws a huge crowd.
